HOW TO WEAR PRINT ON PRINT

Ever heard someone say that putting print on print makes you look like a deranged clown? Well I have ONE piece of advice for you.. Don’t listen! you don’t need those kind of people in your life! I’ve been a big fan of prints myself since I laid my eyes on a vintage YSL tartan jacket when I was 15 years old. (I still have that jacket. 😉 ) And from that moment on, I joined the dark side and never looked back.AirBrush_20180914170900So I put together an outfit that perfectly shows  the right balance between prints and multiple fabrics. And while I do love to be casual in distressed jeans, a plain white shirt en Gucci sneakers (perhaps), this isn’t what we are doing today. What I’m going to show you will be perfect to go out for a fancy dinner, drink martini’s and to smoke a cuban cigar.   AirBrush_20180915155829AirBrush_20180915154432 For this look I chose a dark blue pinstripe Hugo Boss suit wich is the perfect choice for fall! My favourite season! Yay! The positive side about pinstripe is that you basically can combine this print with literally everything. I really recommend this for everyone who’s starting out with mixing and matching. Another good tip is to use the same colours and shades. I always do this to make an outfit stand really out without screaming “Look at me, I need attention!”AirBrush_20180915153200AirBrush_20180915151111I paired my suit with a blue-ish green polka dot dress shirt from Dolce&Gabbana, wich I believe goes well with my complexion. I’m a real blue tone kinda guy 🙂 . You can go bold with this one, but try to keep it in the same colour range. It’ll look more sophisticated and not like you just threw it together in two seconds. A common misconception is that polka dots and stripes don’t go together. Trust me on this one, the rumours are false…it goes together like the Grim Reaper and his scythe.201809151368091565AirBrush_20180915130504.jpgIf you really want to have a good laugh, wear crazy socks! There’s no better way to wear print and it’s something I can’t get enough of. And while you’re at it, invest in merino wool ones (so soft *drool*). You’ll thank me for this later! 🙂 AirBrush_20180915133133Last but not least, don’t forget to think about the accessories to finish it all off! I see it as elevating my outfit even more. I used a plain blue tweed Dolce&Gabbana tie to balance it all out, blue oxford shoes from NYON to give my look a fabulous twist, tortoise printed glasses from Thom Browne and a silver ring…because can an outfit even be called an outfit without any jewellery? oh…those important life questions…

 Enjoy your day, XOXO, Gianni
