Hello my loves! I have a trend for you that’s been in the limelight for quite some time, a golden oldie from the 90´s and it’s here to stay. Yup, you guessed it right, the bomberjacket! Although I love the whole ”rebel” vibe around it, I don’t want to look like I came out of the past , the 90’s simply isn’t my most favourite era when it comes to fashion. Fortunately, these easy can make a bomberjacket look effortless and sophisticated, in the blink of an eye! 🙂
1. INVEST IN A GOOD QUALITY PIECE
I know how appealing fast fashion can be, it’s a great way to try out new trends. However, if you invest in a fabulous piece with a marvelous silk lining, warm burgundy colour and a beautiful fabric (suede anyone?!), you can keep it for years on end instead of being forced to throw it away after a few wears because of the poor quality.
2. COLOUR COORDINATE
To avoid taking the focus off your main item you want to opt for a harmonious and complementary approach. Go for shades that are in the same colour family as the colours of your bomber jacket. And don’t be afraid to add a bright eyeshadow for a more dramatic look. 😉
3. PAIR IT WITH DELICATE FABRICS
The key to create a contrast between the bulky appearance of a bomber jacket and the rest of your look is to add some delicate fabrics like silk, chiffon or a fine merino wool. It’ll make the look even suitable for a fancy dinner or a night out! 🙂
4. ACCENTUATE THE WAIST LINE
When you’re dealing with unstructured jackets, I always like to bring accent to my waist. Whether it’s with a large belt or high-waisted trousers. A good styling trick is to tuck your sweater or top in your pants (hello waist!) for a more nonchalant approach.
5. ADD A LUXURIOUS ACCESSORY
It’s so refreshing to mix a bomber jacket with something as luxurious as a Chanel belt or a wool beret (Ooh La La) 😉 . Complete the look with minimalistic leather footwear, like lace up dress shoes, loafers or fabulous boots. It will not only elevate the overall look of the outfit but it’ll look more put together as well!
Enjoy your day, XOXO, Gianni
